With the growth of the poultry industry all over the world and the increasing need for feed oils, Erim Arıkan, the founder of İzmir-based Erim Arıkan Oil Food and Construction Inc., one of Turkey’s companies engaged in production in this field, said, “The secret of delicious poultry meat is quality feed oil.”
Erim Arıkan stated that they produce fodder vegetable acid oil for animals in their factories in İzmir and Gaziantep: “With the growth of the livestock sector in Turkey day by day, the need for feedstuffs has increased. We contribute to the development of more than 40 million chickens every year with the feed vegetable oil that we produce more than 15 thousand tons per year in our feed oil production factories located in İzmir and Nizip district of Gaziantep. These acid oils we produce are added to the poultry feed at a rate of 5 percent and provide energy to the chicken.”
“For healthier chicken meat and egg consumption, high-protein oils added to chicken feed are of great importance as they provide a positive momentum for public health.” Arıkan said, and explained how this oil they produced was obtained: “It collects ‘soapstock’, which is a non-hazardous waste obtained during the refining phase of sunflower oils, ‘We go through our production process in accordance with the Communique on Oils to be Used in Feeds. This oil we obtain is added to the animal feed and given to the chicken. The more quality feed we give to the chicken, the more we consume chicken meat and eggs at that quality level. The delicious eggs and chicken meat on our table are from quality feed; quality feed is obtained from quality oil.”
